Re-Shoot Blog

So after we all had someone review our film we went on a FaceTime call to discuss what was our issues with the film. We realized we all had the same issue with the film it didn't make sense at certain points throughout the film. So we made up a date on when we all could meet up at Lucas's house to give the film more of a linear progression and less complicated. So when I first got to Lucas's place it was me and him so we decided on where each of the shots was going to take place and with what camera angles we were going to use. So me and Lucas decided to shoot our first shot. The first shot that we shot was of Lucas's character calling up Chris's character to talk on to meet up. The only issue with this shot was that from the location that I was recording. I couldn't pick up what Lucas was saying for the shot. So he had to get his phone at a good location where we could hear what he was saying with the same camera angle. Overall this was an easy shot to shoot an...

Playing a part

So our filming session is finally done. I have never been so relieved of doing something in my life. As I stated before, both my groupmates agreed to the terms I have talked about. But they are planning to record more content on Thursday. They are trying to get more shots that relate to the research we did. The shot we are trying to recreate is the low-angle shot of the shoes while they're dancing. This shot was shown in only one of the videos we watched. But this shot was a shot that I really really liked. Something about it just piqued my interest. The rawness of the shot and how it was shown was something that stuck with me. Besides that, even if I wasn't there for the shoot. I made it up by giving them a list of the shots and how I wanted them to be recorded. From the results I got I'm overall happy with the outcome of these shots. The only downside to the recordings we have is the quality. The quality was shot on our phones and since it was shot on our phones. The shot...

Filming Blog: The end and start of something

On the second day of filming, we filmed the rest of the needed scenes that we needed for the final project. For these final scenes, it was straightforward as all we know is that the only way to get these shots was to clash our ideas to make them. To achieve this we had to get creative if we didn't then it wouldn't come out like we would like to. So the part I had to play was once again of the cameraman and I didn't mind being the cameraman again. Being the cameraman so far has been something I have become more appreciative of. When I was filming before I never realized how hard it was to do the simple task of holding the camera and not have it shake. I truly became invested in the behind-the-scenes filming and the art that comes with that. As for me and the crew it took forever to get a proper shot and not have it shake. We decided it to become an aspect of the film in certain parts of the project to make it semi-shakey to get a certain tone and when we were filming the res...
