Production blog: Getting the act together

When we first formed our crew of three for the music video I knew it would be hard to schedule. We all have things outside of school like sports or work that we focus on to enjoy ourselves. It's the same inside school since we have schoolwork outside of school that needs to be done alongside other projects. We haven't made a clear decision on what day we will start the filming but we did say we would start this week. Hopefully, we can start the filming process sometime before the week. To at least have some content to start the editing process. I personally think the editing process of the music video is going to take the most time and effort. The editing process for the music video is going to reminisce of the early 2000s. Our group is doing a boy band we took inspiration from the most popular boy bands at the time and we took notes on most things in the music video. Most of the editing style that is shown throughout the music videos is that of basic editing styles that are usually like cutaway, dissolve, fade in and fade out, etc. Since it is like a throwback music video the editing portion is a style of when editing effects was a new thing. So we are going for what we consider a rookie editing style nowadays and we are going to incorporate that style into the music video. The clothing that we are going to use is still up in the air but we are going to go in with a similar style since that's what most of the music videos we watched had in common. But we are going for a 2000s-type outfit. Mostly baggy, matching with one another, and having the same aesthetic throughout the whole group's outfits. For the props and set we thought of making it somewhere we wouldn't get into any issues. So we are planning on the sets being in public locations since we don't want to get in any trouble with recording in certain locations unless we get permission from the proper authority to do so. But the location we are for sure going to record for now is the beach or the pier. The props we are going to use are nothing expensive or a lot since we are still unsure of what we are going to bring but we are thinking of a flip phone to get that aesthetic correct. Overall, I feel like in the moment we should have most of the ideas brought out and done to get the proper style we want within the music video.
