My first step in starting my About Me Commercial was to choose the video editing software I wanted to use for my commercial. This was the first roadblock that I came along with starting this project. There's a ton of video editing software with their positives and negatives, and I narrowed it down to only three. iMovie, which comes pre-installed on all Apple devices, makes it a cost-effective choice if you already own an iPhone. This eliminates the need for expensive video editing software. It also comes with pre-made templates for its transition, effects, and titles, which can save time in processing the video and making quick or last-minute changes. The second video editing software is Splice.I have previous experience using this software for a video for my sister, and from my time using this app, it isn't made for the things I want to do in the commercial. Splice is a good video editing app, but its proper use of the app is to make quick and straightforward edits targeted toward social media content. Most of its features are useless for the thing I need it to do. That's why I'm choosing CapCut. CapCut, for me, has always been reliable for its simple user interface and its use for both beginners and intermediate features. It has many tools and features for creating a commercial, just as I want. A thing that I like about this editing software is that there is both a desktop version and a mobile version, making it more accessible to me since I don't have to stick to one device to create the commercial and can allow me to choose the appropriate resolution and format for the commercial. It's a versatile and efficient video editing software that can help me create my desired commercial. My vision for the commercial is to make it a short and simple video that goes over my likes. It's my first time making a video of this sort. My attitude going into this is a mix of both uncertainty and hesitation. I hope it comes out how I want it to since the photos and videos I will use look unrelated, and I can't make a connection or a transition between them other than they hold sentimental value to me. I plan to make it from 15-60 seconds since that's the average time for a commercial.
